Day 42

Learning note · Week 6 · 8 May 2026

What shipped: Decided to put ClawBuddy on hold because my OpenClaw usage dropped significantly for product building.

Lesson learned: A product idea can be valid at one point and still stop being the right thing to build when the problem fades from my own workflow.

Full note

Today I decided to put ClawBuddy on hold. The original idea came from real friction in my OpenClaw usage, especially around auth expiry, usage visibility, and scheduled work.

But my actual product-building workflow has changed. As the Codex app got better, it started to feel more natural for the kind of focused product development time I have now. I am spending less time in OpenClaw, so the pain that ClawBuddy was supposed to solve has dropped a lot.

That changes the product truth. If I am no longer feeling the problem myself, ClawBuddy no longer feels like the right product to build now. It is not that the idea is bad. It is that the urgency went away.

I will likely need to rethink product three for this 90-day challenge, or decide how to pivot the idea into something that still solves a real problem in my current workflow.
